Wayne Thomas is the W. K. Newton Chair in Accounting at the University of Oklahoma, where he teaches introductory financial accounting and intermediate accounting. He received his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Southwestern Oklahoma State University, and his master’s and PhD in accounting from Oklahoma State University. Professor Thomas has won teaching awards at the university, college, and departmental levels, and has received the Outstanding Educator Award from the Oklahoma Society of CPAs. Wayne is also a co-author on McGraw-Hill’s best-selling Financial Accounting, with David Spiceland and Don Herrmann.  His primary research interests are in markets-based accounting research, financial disclosures, financial statement analysis, and international accounting issues. He previously served as an editor of The Accounting Review and has published articles in a variety of journals including The Accounting Review, Journal of Accounting and Economics, Journal of Accounting Research, Review of Accounting Studies, and Contemporary Accounting Research. He has won several research awards, including the American Accounting Association’s Competitive Manuscript Award. I already owned an earlier edition of this book, but purchased this edition for the updated material to help study for the FAR section of the CPA exam. I am glad I did. Besides the updated material I can also see where several parts of the book have been edited to make it more understandable and relevant.

Very inefficient explanation of concepts and lack of examples. This was the required textbook in upper division level intermediate financial accounting course, and my professor didn't even bother to open this book during the lecture. Too bad it was a required text that I had to spend $300 on this piece of S****T.

I purchased this textbook through their website not knowing the seller was third party. When the third party seller sent the wrong textbook and, as it seemed, didn't care to resolved this major issue, Amazon stood by their promise and went beyond to make sure I was taken care of. I am very satisfied. As far as the textbook itself, it is very in-depth on the subject. However, the author(s) (McGraw-Hill) are very inconsistent and just incorrect with some of their grammar and punctuation, even in the software (Connect)...very irritating.

Exactly what i needed. Beats renting it for 3 classes

Rental arrived in good enough shape for school at a cheap price. I should have no trouble with the s school year.

Great reference book for pharmacy students. There were a couple mistakes in the book that made some of the excerpts inconsistent but overall, that could be overlooked if you have the clinical knowledge already (which you should!)

Unless you have pockets the size of small grocery bags, or perhaps you are part kangaroo, this will not fit. Of course, one could to roll it up like a newspaper and shove it into a pocket, but proceeding to walk around in public after having done only signals that you are a social imbecile. Not exactly what I was looking for in a psychopharmacology textbook

Regarding the one bad review, someone disappointed that this isn't a psychopharmacology text-well, it isn't, nor is it meant to be. It IS a quite useful, quick reference, packed with highly readable bullets of info that makes it invaluable. A remarkable amount of knowledge + clinical pearls are condensed here not easily found elsewhere. Applicable to the newbie student as well as the seasoned psychiatrist. Highly recommended.

This made an otherwise boring topic (in my opinion) fairly palatable. Ironically, this book laid out HRM so well that I realized I didn't want a job in that field and so I dropped my Human Resources class and continued reading the book. I really liked the real-world examples (tons of name-dropping) embedded in the text, and the many charts helped me get through what is kind of a dense subject. Good chapter summaries too. Even though I ended up dropping my Human Resources Management class, I skimmed through the book and read some sections thoroughly because there's a lot of good information in there, and it's pretty well-written for a textbook. I feel like it's helped prepare me for working after college graduation, as now I'm caught up on lots of legal cases and acts relevant to knowing my employee rights, HRM purpose/activities, and management theory. I can articulate my complaints a little better, if nothing else! I reference this book at least monthly while just chatting about work with friends while, usually criticizing management techniques or suggesting someone go talk to HR because of things I read in that book.

This book has a gazillion typos. While the content is good, the publisher should do better. I think I should get my money back for having to navigate the annoying typos, but the publisher said no.

There are simply too many typographical and grammatical errors to be found in this book. It could potentially be a great piece of resource material on Human Resource Management, but the lack of editing leaves me questioning credibility.

The book has MANY grammatical errors which really surprised me since its a published textbook. It's hard for me to smoothly read this text when there are so many grammatical errors that result in me having to re-read sentences over and over to understand.

Had it for my Human Resources class, and it was easy to understand, just a lot of information. Totally love that the vocab is colored highlighted and put on the side of the page for easy access.

Rented the book. In ok condition but what i really care about is the content. No pages were damaged. Would highly recommend students to rent books for school!

Great book for a person staring in the field of HRM. In my opinion, it is written in a simple, explicit and interesting manner. Very easy to understand with the samples provided. GREAT BOOK!!!

This book is very useful for Human Resource Management classes. I did substantially better on tests reading this book than I did on tests I only listened to lecture.
