This series makes me think that this is what Conan the Barbarian would be like in a complete novel format. This book is gritty, dark fantasy at its absolute best. However, the imagery and descriptions of the scenery make it into a beautiful, if somewhat brutal, world. I can't wait for book three, and I hope that this will be a series that will have dozens of volumes in it. So people, make sure to read, and hopefully you too will give this book a review worthy of this epic series.
Really interesting Adventure, with a great road trip desert Caravan thing going on. Characters continue to be developed with some good depth and interest. I definitely want to read more about these characters and see what happens next! Well worth the price.
Good to have a character that isn't an idiot, harem elements are minimal and well placed so as not to be distracting. Characters are winners.
Really fun story. It started off a little slow, but the pacing continually builds and by rhe end i couldn't put it down.
a new way to lock at progresson and its is well writen like the last one with som funny moments also.

I have to say this series is almost my favorite from this author. I especially love the flow of the story. My only complaint is there seem to be some missed opportunities the girl to officially be consummated in the harem gets what is close to a fade to black scene. There is a group towards the beginning/middle that think ok him as a god and he doesn't capitalize on it.
After reading the first book, I could not wait for the second to come out. The first half of the book feels like filler. He took a side journey that was frankly just ridiculous. Then when he gets back on track, it feels rushed. I love his books, and this series has lots of potential, but this one misses the mark in a big way. I hope the third is better.
